A backup protects a file; a recovery plan protects the business. Backup and Disaster Recovery combines automated, policy-driven backups with tested recovery procedures that ensure data and services can be restored within defined timeframes. Backups are automated across servers, databases, applications, and cloud workloads. Copies are stored in a separate region or site so that a regional outage, ransomware attack, or operational error does not result in permanent data loss. Recovery is tested on a defined schedule to prove that the data is restorable and the process works.

Our approach

We design and operate a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery programme covering servers, databases, virtual machines, cloud workloads, and SaaS applications. Backup policies are defined per workload tier — frequency, retention, replication target, and recovery priority — and executed automatically through enterprise backup platforms. Recovery copies are replicated to a secondary region or isolated site with immutable storage to protect against ransomware modification. We run scheduled recovery drills that test restore procedures and measure actual RPO and RTO against targets. Each drill produces a report with findings, remediation actions, and updated attestation. The backup infrastructure is monitored for completion, storage consumption, and policy compliance. Failed backups are detected and remediated before the next scheduled run.

Questions buyers actually ask

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup creates copies of data that can be restored. Disaster recovery is the plan and infrastructure to restore the entire service — applications, configurations, dependencies, and data — within a defined time. Backup is a component of DR but does not replace it.

How often should we test recovery?

Critical workloads should be tested at least quarterly. Standard workloads at least bi-annually. Recovery testing should also be triggered after significant infrastructure changes — migrations, upgrades, or architecture changes that could invalidate existing recovery procedures.

Is immutable storage really immune to ransomware?

Immutable WORM storage with object lock prevents any user — including administrators — from modifying or deleting data within the retention window. Ransomware that gains administrative access cannot encrypt or delete backup data stored on immutable targets. Immutability is the primary defence against backup-targeting ransomware.

How long do we need to keep backups?

Retention is workload-specific. Typical retention tiers range from 7-30 days for daily backups of standard workloads, up to 1-7 years for annual backups of compliance-required data. We define retention policies per workload based on business requirements and regulatory obligations.

Can you take over our existing backup infrastructure?
